WADE

Engineer around mud, water and wader movement.

Waterfowl apparel is tested before the hunter ever sits down: mud, reeds, flooded edges, boat steps and wader straps expose weak patterning, poor cuffs, noisy fabrics and badly placed storage. The garment has to move through wet entry without soaking, binding or collecting unnecessary bulk.

WET COLD

Warmth has to work when moisture is present.

Waterfowl cold combines static waiting, wind, spray, damp contact and glove-dependent work. Insulation cannot be selected as a single number; the package has to work with shell fabric, waders, venting, hand systems and compression points.

You can start with one priority product, but the waterfowl system should still be mapped so the jacket, wader, bib, glove and insulation decisions do not conflict later.

What makes waterfowl apparel different from backcountry apparel?+

Waterfowl apparel usually carries more wet handling, wader compatibility, mud abrasion, blind or boat ergonomics, glove operation and waterproof claim burden. Backcountry apparel leans more toward elevation, output, pack load and fast weather changes.

Can you help with waterproof and breathable product language?+

SSM can review material and construction routes against the approved brief. Waterproof, breathable, seam-sealed or weather-resistant language should be tied to the actual material route, garment construction, care route and agreed evidence plan.

Can we use our own marsh camouflage or solid color system?+

Yes, when your brand owns or is authorized to use the artwork. Marsh camouflage, solid color and any visibility requirements should be reviewed by target market, season and hunt method before product wording is finalized.
